It’s the color that when you were young, would make your stomach flip inside out. The color Momma called ominous, although you were never really sure what that meant. It’s all the wrong colors a sky should be at 3:00 on a sunny Summer day. Before the sky changed color, it was the perfect blue, like the color of the sea off the coast of a tropical island. You were in awe at the color. How could it possibly be so pale and bright at the same time? Then, you see it rolling in: thick blackish-grey clouds with streaks of purple and navy and even a little orange flipping over and under each other, making loud thunderous claps as they push closer and closer towards you until suddenly the entire sky looks so dark, you’re sure God is summoning the devil from hell.
